Our Chapel of Rest
In most cases it will be possible to view your loved one in our chapel of rest before the funeral and say your last goodbyes. This can help people comes to terms with the death, especially if it was unexpected.
At the time of arrangement the funeral arranger will discuss this with you and help you make the right decision. A suitable day and time will be arranged between the family and the funeral director for you to visit the deceased, which is usually a couple of days before the funeral ceremony, once all the necessary legal documentation has been completed.
Everyone in our care are treated with the utmost respect and dignity. Prior to being placed in the casket or coffin they will be washed, dressed etc. Regardless of whether a viewing is opted for.
If a viewing is chosen, we would recommend hygienic treatment, which is commonly referred to as embalming. This is a highly skilled procedure carried out by our trained professionals. This can be discussed further at the time of funeral arrangement if needed.
